Photography is an important part in Ton van Geelen’s artistic life. Impressions of his travels, walks in the countryside and cities, people from other cultures, events etc. serve as inspiration for his creations.
Fermentation process
In his spare time Ton walks a lot in nature and mainly makes atmospheric photo-impressions in the Veluwe, Veluwezoom and the IJssel-valley in Gelderland, Netherlands.
The photos will serve as a framework and example for his paintings, because Ton paints his creations in many layers. By frequently studying and quiet viewing of the photos, the fermentation process in his head starts, until it comes in the right mood.
